Who We Are

Founded over 20 years ago by small, independent livestock producers, Island Grown Farmers Cooperative (IGFC) was created to preserve the rich farming heritage of the San Juan Islands and provide essential local butchering services. In response to rising costs, shrinking farmland, and competition from large-scale corporate operations, farmers in the Pacific Northwest joined forces to form a farmer-owned cooperative. Today, IGFC is over 100 members strong, serving producers across multiple counties in the region and empowering them to maintain control over every step—from raising livestock to delivering premium, high-quality products to their customers and communities.
